We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for the right person to join and work alongside the dedicated and community-focused team of professionals in its Economic Development and Strategy Department as the Economic Development Officer (EDO).

Under the general direction of the Manager of Economic Development, the Economic Development Officer (EDO) is responsible for coordinating the administration, implementation and operation of the City's economic development programs. Through regular direction from the Manager, the incumbent assists with the implementation of policies and programs to ensure the operational objectives of the City are met. The EDO is responsible for coordinating implementation of the City's Economic Development Strategy. This position requires a degree in communications, community planning, business administration, journalism, public relations, or a related field, plus a minimum of three (3) years related experience. Experience should include community engagement within a government or dynamic corporate environment. The incumbent should have strong graphic design, photography and writing skills, as well as strong interpersonal and public relations abilities. A background in business, economics, or event planning would be a strong asset. An entrepreneurial approach and ability to promote the City's Economic Development projects and initiatives should be evident from prior work experience.
