About the role

We are looking for a Senior Planning Analyst to join our team

The Senior Planning Analyst is responsible for maintaining sales, inventory, and margin plans and reports that tie to financial targets. They generate plans and models that incorporate statistically based forecasts, merchandise plans and business knowledge to inform and advise on business decisions on inventory, sales and retail trends.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain predictive models to forecast inventory flow and needs, margins, profitability, sales and retail trends
  • Partner with Merchants, Wholesale Team, Web Team and the Planning Director to create and maintain an assortment plan following high-level financial targets
  • Develop assortment plans for sales, margin and inventory in support of productivity and financial targets
  • Prepare and analyze post-mortem reports from the previous year to learn and improve future season
  • Incorporate impact of events and entrance/exit strategies
  • Prepare weekly reporting on sales, inventory, margin to be reviewed by the Planning Director and Merchants
  • Analyze and reflect current trends in performance of strategy based on actual sales performance; revise in-season plans for sales and profitability, control inventory levels
  • Partner with Merchant to develop and propose actions in response to current business trends
  • Work with Allocation and logistic departments to formulate alternate event options and determine initial allocations
  • Actively manage and update sales and inventory flowcharts, P&Ls, presenting analysis and recommendations to the Planning Director and Merchants
  • Reporting/Analytics
  • Analyze results for relevant product categories relative to plan and trend performance for monthly/seasonal sales, margin and inventory
  • Partner with Merchant, Wholesale Team, Amazon Team, Finance and Marketing to make informed decisions on promotional events and season planning
  • Partner with Allocation, Merchants and Marketing on exit strategies, new item launches and collections; provide recommendations in response to financial targets
  • Perform analysis and provide recommendations to the planning and merchant team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of retail planning experience required
  • Experience in wholesale planning, inventory management, allocation or replenishment, financial planning or financial analysis experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or Statistics
  • Assortment planning experience
  • Knowledge of Amazon and Wholesale business would be an asset
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; proactively problem solves and recommends solutions
  • Superior analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel; retail math skills
  • Modelling and analytical skills; ability to link financial results to operational performance drivers
  • Ability to identify and influence critical stakeholders
  • Builds collaborative partnerships cross-functionally
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to articulate detailed action plans to successfully accomplish goals
  • Understands and executes against business strategy and goals.

L'Analyste de la planification senior est responsable du maintien des plans et des rapports de ventes, d’inventaire et de marge liés aux objectifs financiers. Ils génèrent des plans et des modèles qui intègrent des prévisions statistiques, des plans de marchandises et des connaissances commerciales pour informer et conseiller sur les décisions commerciales concernant les tendances des stocks, des ventes et de la vente au détail.

Responsabilités

  • Développer et maintenir des modèles prédictifs pour prévoir le flux et les besoins des stocks, les marges, la rentabilité, les ventes et les tendances de vente au détail.
  • Collaborer avec les marchands, l'équipe de vente en gros, l'équipe Web et le directeur de la planification pour créer et maintenir un plan d'assortiment suivant des objectifs financiers de haut niveau.
  • Développer des plans d'assortiment pour les ventes, la marge et les stocks à l'appui des objectifs de productivité et financiers.
  • Préparer et analyser les rapports post-mortem de l'année précédente pour apprendre et améliorer la saison future.
  • Intégrer l'impact des événements et les stratégies d'entrée/sortie
  • Préparer des rapports hebdomadaires sur les ventes, les stocks et la marge qui seront examinés par le directeur de la planification et les commerçants.
  • Analyser et refléter les tendances actuelles en matière de performance de la stratégie en fonction des performances de ventes réelles ; réviser les plans de vente et de rentabilité en cours de saison, contrôler les niveaux de stocks
  • Collaborer avec Merchant pour développer et proposer des actions en réponse aux tendances commerciales actuelles.
  • Travailler avec les services d'allocation et de logistique pour formuler des options d'événements alternatives et déterminer les allocations initiales.
  • Gérer et mettre à jour activement les diagrammes de ventes et d'inventaire, les P&L, en présentant des analyses et des recommandations au directeur de la planification et aux commerçants.
  • Rapports/Analyses
  • Analyser les résultats pour les catégories de produits pertinentes par rapport aux performances du plan et des tendances pour les ventes mensuelles/saisonnières, la marge et les stocks.
  • Collaborer avec le marchand, l'équipe de vente en gros, l'équipe Amazon, les finances et le marketing pour prendre des décisions éclairées sur les événements promotionnels et la planification de la saison.
  • Collaborer avec Allocation, les marchands et le marketing sur les stratégies de sortie, les lancements de nouveaux articles et les collections ; formuler des recommandations en réponse aux objectifs financiers
  • Effectuer des analyses et fournir des recommandations à l'équipe de planification et aux commerçants.

Exigences

  • Plus de 5 années d'expérience en planification de vente au détail requises
  • Expérience en planification de gros, gestion des stocks, allocation ou réapprovisionnement, expérience en planification financière ou en analyse financière
  • Baccalauréat en finance, comptabilité, commerce ou statistique
  • Expérience en planification d'assortiment
  • La connaissance d'Amazon et du commerce de gros serait un atout.
  • Fortes compétences en résolution de problèmes et en analyse ; résout les problèmes de manière proactive et recommande des solutions
  • Compétences analytiques supérieures et maîtrise de Microsoft Excel; compétences en mathématiques au détail
  • Compétences en modélisation et en analyse; capacité à lier les résultats financiers aux moteurs de performance opérationnelle
  • Capacité à identifier et influencer les parties prenantes critiques
  • Établit des partenariats de collaboration interfonctionnels
  • Fortes compétences en communication et en présentation
