POSITION SUMMARY

This position reports to the Manager, Inventory and Production Planning and is responsible for maintaining Work in Process (WIP), Finished Goods, and Consumable inventory accuracy to support on-time delivery to our customers. Inventory Coordinator – WIP is also responsible for accurate inventory records within QAD, defining root cause of inventory errors, and developing corrective action plans in conjunction with Scheduling and Planning, Operations, Shipping, and Finance. Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting Scheduling/Planning and the Operations Team, the Internal Supply Chain Coordinator manages inventory systems which includes weekly/monthly physical inventory cycle counts, inventory adjustments, transaction audits and inventory transfers while documenting results.
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records, generate, and issue inventory control tags.
  • Conduct internal inventory audits, track discrepancies, use root cause analysis to identify reasons for inaccuracies and provide feedback.
  • Monitor inventory levels for WIP queues, transitory locations, non-stocking, slow-moving or obsolete products.
  • Identify and standardize physical inventory locations.
  • Acts as a backup to the Scheduling and Planning Team

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Planning, analysis, and inventory control in a high volume, repetitive, manufacturing environment.
  • The ideal candidate will have completed or partially completed APICS, Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program. The incumbent would be expected to continue supplemental education to complete this program.
  • Post-secondary courses or certifications in inventory control and operations management.
  • Hands on experience using advanced inventory methodologies and techniques to improve inventory accuracy, while reducing overall inventories.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Outlook, and intermediate Excel skills are required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment, experience with QAD would be an asset.
  • Detail oriented with well-developed communication, interpersonal, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle a varied and challenging workload while balancing priorities with objectives with minimal supervision.
