LOCATION: Apply Digital is hybrid/remote friendly. The preferred candidate should be based in the Greater Toronto Area of Canada, working in hours that align to ET .

THE ROLE:

The Brand Strategy Manager serves as the intersection of strategic thinking and creativity. In this role, they are responsible for building, developing, and evolving a client’s distinctive brand strategy, which involves defining all essential brand elements including positioning, purpose, mission, vision, and aesthetic.

Working closely with clients, autonomously at most times, this Brand Strategy Manager is responsible for leading and creating the Strategic Outcomes, Workshops, Creative Briefs, Stakeholder Sell-in Presentations and the Final Experience Strategy and Brand Narratives. This positions reports to the Senior Director of Brand Strategy and works primarily within the Strategy Department.

Team Management Responsibilities:
  • Foster a culture of creative excellence by example and direction.
  • Mentor juniors to be strategy-first in their executions.
  • Delegate work based on skill.
  • Oversee career development of other brand strategists.
  • Unearth opportunities for new business.
Relationships:
  • Provide the vision, guidance, support and strategic oversight to client partners.
  • Manage and collaborate with other stakeholders to empower client partners.
  • Drive creative and innovation from insight to execution.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Leverage their experience to coach and mentor more junior team members.
Brand Strategy Manager In-a-Nutshell:
  • Set the strategy for the creative department to align with business goals of clients.
  • Help unlock the creative potential of brands, of Apply Digital and its people.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to strengthen strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
  • 6-10 years of experience in Brand Strategy.
  • Previous experience in professional services or consultancy/agency environments.
  • Ability to synthesize culture, research and competition to develop thorough insights.
  • Ability to craft brand strategy territories - developing briefs for creative teams.
  • Strategically assess creative and provide actionable feedback.
  • Experience with planning and executing workshops.
  • Strong ability to create storytelling presentations tailored to different audiences.
  • Ability to plan strategies from start to finish, including mapping out steps.
  • Ability to support Business Development activities, e.g. pitch prep.
  • Can effectively articulate scope requirements for different types of strategy engagements.
  • Able to operate successfully both independently and as a collaborator.
