About the Project
Cross Fraser Partnership (CFP) is a Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., Pomerleau BC Inc. and Arcadis Canada Inc. general partnership that has been selected to collaboratively deliver a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. The new tunnel will have three vehicle lanes and one dedicated transit lane in each direction, with a separated active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians.
Position Overview
The Design Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Design Manager and be responsible for liaising with the design team, the construction team and project management team as well as other members of the project team on a regular basis for this progressive design build project.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, review, and manage the Project information from the Engineering Consultant, internal construction team, project partners, and the Client to ensure comprehensive understanding of the design scope and requirements.
Share relevant information with all stakeholders involved in the project.
Compile design submissions and issue them to the Client for review. Manage the collection and tracking of Client feedback throughout the design process.
Coordinate and liaise with design consultants, schedulers, construction management/operations personnel, engineers, and estimators to ensure alignment across all project phases.
Collect and organize project information from various sources and ensure that all relevant stakeholders receive timely and accurate updates.
Prepare clear and concise written correspondence, including meeting minutes.
Coordinate technical and administrative activities among different project teams.
Participate in the identification and evaluation of design-related risks
Develop and maintain templates to standardize data collection across disciplines (e.g., risk, construction, civil, utilities).
Coordinate and consolidate design deliverables as required across multiple design disciplines to ensure a fully integrated and constructible design Identify and resolve conflicts between different design disciplines to ensure consistency and compliance.
Support the transition from design to construction, applying knowledge gained during the pursuit phase to execution.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary project information.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or a related discipline (or relevant field of study).
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license or eligibility to obtain one within Canada.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in marine infrastructure, including coastal or river engineering, hydraulic structures, dredging operations or marine foundations.
Experience working in or around the Fraser River, or similar large tidal river systems, is a strong plus.
Familiarity with marine construction methods, including cofferdams, caissons, mooring systems, and underwater concreting.
Experience in heavy infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
Proficient in software related to the construction industry (e.g., AutoCAD, Navisworks and Bluebeam, etc.)
Strong understanding of construction documentation and the ability to interpret technical and contractual requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholder.
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $94,000 – $127,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location. Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program, which is listed above. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.
