What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll triage and prioritize security and fraud incidents according to urgency and business impact and act as a secondary lead while providing support to Senior Fusion Response leaders for high-profile enterprise crises and complex incidents. You will act as primary response lead on lower severity incidents, follow and enforce established response procedures and playbooks, write and distribute accurate records of incident response meetings, workgroups, and executive briefings, and ensure they are effectively distributed to stakeholders within established timelines. Activities will also include capturing lessons learned from incidents and exercises, write post-incident/exercise reports, and track assigned action items, lead the Fusion Daily Briefing which brings key CIBC stakeholders together from across the key security domains and enables effective information sharing across the CIBC security community to proactively identify potential issues that could have an impact on CIBC, and support mitigation efforts. Participating in working groups or task forces to address systemic threats or issues impacting CIBC and/or its clients as well as participating in individual and collective training exercises to continuously improve your capability and team effectiveness.

This is a full time role with a schedule of 37.5 hours each week. The role is 24/7 with some after-hours requirements. This position will require flexibility in managing priorities to meet the demands and the overall objectives of the business. Workload can be particularly heavy during times of high-impact and/or multiple concurrent incidents.

Who You Are

  • You’re a certified professional: You have experience in business continuity or risk management is preferred or a Certificate or designation in Emergency Management, Crisis Response, Business Continuity (CBCP), Risk Management (CRISC, CGRC) is a definite asset. Previous business incident response or crisis management experience is an asset.

  • Previous experience: Financial services institution (bank, insurance, wealth management, credit card networks), or a financial market instrument (payments, clearing, or settlement systems) is an asset.

  • Your influence makes an impact. You have influencing skills to shape the development of solutions or the operating culture – to obtain support of management and elicit cooperation and consensus. You also have advanced skills in managing internal and external relationships and are a pro-active self-starter who brings a sense of urgency to the role.
