NRCan has transitioned to a hybrid work environment which offers employees the opportunity to telework and work from the designated work location, subject to operational requirements. This position will require an in-office presence for a minimum of two (2) days a week.
Responsible for the coordination and completion of IT projects. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. Responsible for drafting systems requirements as well experience with working in collaboration with developers in the implementation of IT systems. Responsible for providing technical instructions to the IT team for database changes. Responsible for the process of data mining to turn raw data into useful information.
Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) Office of Energy Efficiency leads Canadians to energy efficiency through policy guidance for the whole of government, both domestically and internationally, and through the delivery of major federal energy efficiency programs and incentives designed to increase awareness and further the advancement:
• in the industrial systems and processes of Canadian industries;
• in energy efficient labelling of products, new or existing construction and industrial facilities.

The Office of Energy Efficiency (OEE) is composed of the following sections:
Buildings Division (BD)
Canada Green Building Strategy Secretariat (CGBSS)
Demand Policy and Analysis Division (DPAD)
Homes and Communities Division (HCD)
Our offices are in the Sir William Logan Building at 580 Booth Street in Ottawa’s Little Italy neighbourhood, steps away from Dow’s Lake, the Rideau Canal, the Arboretum and Preston Street. Lunch time walks or runs, skating in the winter, lunches or after work gatherings at wide variety of eateries and/or pubs offer quality of life additions to busy workdays. The Sir William Logan Building is also close to the O-Train and major bus routes. If you qualify, but are not appointed to this position, you may be considered for identical or similar positions in the future within Natural Resources Canada, with various terms of employment, language requirements, linguistic requirements and profiles, security requirements, conditions of employment and work locations.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the following disciplines: project management, computer science, information technology, information management, or in another field relevant to the position, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience related to the position.
Experience with program data collection and information management systems.
Experience in analyzing data and technical information.
Experience providing reports and analysis to management*
Experience leading or participating in project teams.
Experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various, complex related activities associated with full-time performance of duties.

Knowledge of data analytics
Knowledge of project management practices and principles
Ability to communicate effectively in writing
