Founded in 1982 by Jean-Paul de Lavison, JPdL has become one of the largest events and conference planning companies in Canada. Management of corporate and association events and incentive trips for the Canadian market.
Design, management and logistics of conferences, congresses and symposiums at local, national and international levels.
The desire to integrate sustainable development issues into our daily activities and to adopt specific eco-responsible actions for the exemplary management of all our events.
Reporting to the President, the Director of Sales will focus on sales and new business opportunities to generate revenue, improve profitability and help this established business grow. Responsible to drive sustainable annual financial growth and to forge strong relationships with all stakeholders (sales team, clients, suppliers and partners). Create and execute an effective sales strategy and plan, all while overseeing the sales managers in all JPdL destinations.
Oversee sales team, provide guidance and collaboration on proposals;
Suggest new policies and procedures to help improve business profitability;
Educate and coach on selling techniques;
Engage in fieldwork to nurture sales opportunities;
Identify new areas of growth for the business and work with sales team to put plans into action;
Collaborate with marketing team to create promotional materials that effectively communicate our value proposition to prospective clients;
Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to represent the company and generate leads, fostering partnerships and alliances with key stakeholders;
Coordinate and support communication plans for enhanced visibility;
Rally and grow sales, companywide;
Monitor sales forecasts and maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline for DMC and PCO sales;
Align DMC, PCO, and Government Sales efforts;
Analyze sales and action plan (SAP) yield through lead tracking and ranking;
In collaboration with the sales team, conceive and implement new sales tools and technologies for solution improvement;
Develop and nurture long-term relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating favorable terms and pricing agreements to maximize profitability and service quality.
Minimum 5 years of experience in events or in an agency environment;
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite (SharePoint, Excel, Word, Outlook);
Proficiency with social media platforms (Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook);
Knowledge of FileMaker an asset;
Entrepreneurial spirit and autonomous with an ability to inspire a sales team;
Quick learner, with a flexible and proactive approach; Bilingual (oral and written) in English and French.
