Sales Manager

This is a hybrid or fully remote position (40Seas office is in New York City). Applicants can be based anywhere in the USA.
40seas develops financial solutions tailored for the global supply chain market (exporters, importers, and freight forwarders), including a new breed of flexible payment terms for cross-border transactions. The company was founded by a group of seasoned entrepreneurs from the Fintech industry whose prior companies have had successful IPOs or been acquired by market leaders.
As a Sales Manager you will be responsible for developing new business across the Americas and EU. This position requires you to be hungry and motivated, and have experience generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. As a startup that is doubling in size each quarter, you should be self motivated, flexible, and able to "wear many hats."
- Represent the company as a sales professional across the US, Canada, and EU
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and how 40Seas can best address them
- Develop your own sales pipeline, from generating leads, to managing a pipeline and closing deals
- Work closely with the CSM and Marketing Teams to ensure customer retention and growth
- Attend various offline events and customer meetings, both to develop new business and also identity market trends and opportunities
- A Bachelor's degree, ideally in business, communications, marketing or analytical oriented degree
- 3 or more years of experience in a dedicated sales or business development role
- Ability to travel to events and customer meetings
- Tech savvy, with experience working on online platforms and CRMs (Salesforce, Hubspot, etc)
- Detail and data oriented, with an analytical and business mindset
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic and high pressure environment
- Proficiency in additional languages
- Experience in import/export businesses, global trade, or trade finance
