Your roleReporting to the National Claims Manager, the Claims Adjuster investigates, evaluates and settles commercial and personal property claims.What you bring to the position• Minimum 5 years of claims adjusting experience (property)• CIP designation or working towards same to meet licensing requirements• Strong oral and written communication skills• Excellent negotiation, analytical and investigative skills• Strong time management, problem solving and organizational skills• Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities• Bilingual (French/English) an assetWhat you will do• Collect and analyze claims information through investigation• Evaluate coverages, exclusions and liability of various property policies• Examine subscription claims• Communicate regularly with subscribers and Lead Adjuster on subscription files• Maintain timely and accurate records and reserves throughout claim handling• Provide timely reports (e.g. Large Loss Reports) and file presentations, as required, to Claims Supervisor/Manager• Attend and present at Large Loss Meetings as required• Negotiate settlement (or denial)• Assist with quarterly claims audits as required• Establish and maintain strong relationships with both claims vendors and clients• Provide exceptional service • Provide timely reports and file presentations to National Claims Manager• Work closely with Underwriting Department on risk assessment• Work both independently and as part of the Claims team • Provide mentorship and technical consultation as needed• Actively participate with team in Claims Department projects and ad hoc tasksWhat we offer• Flexible (remote) workplace• Competitive compensation package• Comprehensive benefits• RRSP program with Company matching• Paid training and professional development
