Your role
Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Claims Adjuster investigates, evaluates and settles commercial and personal property claims.
What you bring to the position
- Bilingual required (French/English)
- Minimum 2 years of claims adjusting experience (property)
- CIP designation or working towards same to meet licensing requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent negotiation, analytical and investigative skills
- Strong time management, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
What you will do
- Collect and analyze claims information through investigation
- Evaluate coverages, exclusions and liability of various property policies
- Maintain timely and accurate records throughout claim handling
- Maintain timely and accurate claim reserves
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with both claims vendors and clients
- Provide exceptional service
- Provide timely reports and file presentations to Claims Manager
- Work closely with the underwriting department on risk assessment
- Work both independently and as part of the claims team
