We are currently looking for aLead Resource Planning Consultant to join our Resource Planning team.The Resource Planning team is responsible for economic analysis andstrategy with a focus on integrating new resources to ensure a costeffective, reliable plan for the clean energy grid of the future. Theteam advises our development team, company leadership, and externalstakeholders on optimal resource planning decisions by developing bettertools, processes, and modeling approaches through learning and knowledgesharing. Our ideal candidate enjoys a challenge, works well in acollaborative team environment, and revels in seeking answers throughdata analytics. This is a hybrid-remote position reporting to the CedarRapids, IA or Madison, WI office. What you will do: * Perform Integrated Resource Planning(IRP) style generation planning and capacity expansion modeling, usingPLEXOS (or similar) production cost software. * Research MISO ResourceAdequacy obligations, regulatory IRP requirements, and peer IRP reportsand filings from multiple entities to build a benchmark system model. *Analyze data, draws inferences and presents results in a clear andunderstandable format to management and external stakeholders. *Develop presentation materials that communicate clearly the analysesperformed and conveys insights that help Alliant Energy better serve itsutility customers. * Assist in developing business case andalternatives analysis with cost-benefit and risk evaluation for futureprojects. * Support multiple ad hoc projects inclusive of those above,completing them in a timely manner. Education: * Bachelor\'s Degreewith an emphasis in engineering, economics, or utility finance ispreferred. Required Experience: * A minimum of 10 years of experiencein the energy industry with integrated resource planning, resourceadequacy, economic analysis experience, forecasting, economic analysis,and asset management experience * Strong understanding of the economicsunderlying electric power generation and a working knowledge of relatedtechnical issues * Previous experience in Integrated Resource Planningor a strong background in power sector modeling, resource cost-benefitanalysis, or related complex system modeling * Experience with PLEXOSor similar production cost models (Aurora, PROMOD, Encompass, etc.)Strong data management,analysis, and presentation skills (Excel, PowerPoint) * Experience inevaluating complex technical and financial issues independently,developing recommendations, action plans, and managing multiple c Toview the full job description please use the link below. *** Apply Online:
