Title: Director, Human Resources

Reporting to: CEO

Purpose

Overview of role

This role will partner with NGen’s business leaders to develop and execute a Talent Strategy focused on talent acquisition, talent assessment, talent engagement and talent development. With this focus, NGen will be equipped to have a future-ready, aligned and integrated high-performance team. To be successful in this role, the incumbent must understand NGen’s business priorities and help leaders with recommendations that improve individual and organizational performance and create an overall great employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers, in partnership with other members of the NGen team, a high performing organization in line with our strategic objectives around business excellence.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement effective HR policies and practices that will support the strategic growth of NGen’s business.
  • Offer thought leadership regarding organizational and people-related strategy and execution.
  • Provide timely information and/or education for all levels on HR-related issues.
  • Educate, coach, and partner with people leaders on performance management and employee development goals.
  • Provide HR expertise in the areas of feedback, employee relations, development and coaching, compensation, and organizational development.
  • Participate in the continual development of HR programs, such as employee engagement, recruiting, retention, compensation, benefits, and career development.
  • Design and develop talent strategies for diagnosing and enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Facilitate core cyclical HR processes, e.g., performance calibration, compensation review, promotions, etc.
  • Design, develop and analyze various types of employee reports, e.g., compensation, job levels, and attrition, etc., to guide decision making and provide proactive solutions to NGen.

Experience & Education

  • A minimum of 10 years in a similar HR leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a recognized university
  • Advanced degree, e.g., Master’s degree in Adult Education or Business Administration or equivalent preferred
  • CHRP designation
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in French is an asset
