Job Title: Sales Manager

Reports to: Global Sales and Marketing Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead our inside sales team and grow the business. The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing a team of two inside sales representatives, driving sales, marketing activities and developing sales and marketing strategies to meet and exceed sales targets. This individual will play a key role in growing our customer base, maintaining client relationships, and expanding market reach. The candidate will be based out of the Waterloo Hydrogeologic office in Waterloo, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business objectives and revenue targets;
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities, new markets and competitive landscape;
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs;
  • Lead and manage a team of two inside sales representatives setting performance goals, providing guidance and conducting regular performance evaluations;
  • Identify new business opportunities and drive growth in existing accounts;
  • Collaborate with marketing and product management teams to drive product awareness and adoption;
  • Monitor sales metrics and performance to track progress towards goals;
  • Conduct regular sales meetings and provide feedback and support to the sales team;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, agents, and stakeholders to drive customer satisfaction;
  • Ensure the CRM is used by all salespeople to monitor progress of sales opportunities and on-going projects;
  • Identify sustainable development opportunities and drive the growth plan;
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and competitors;
  • Assist distributors and agents in building the Company's market share;
  • Implement the Company's strategy of growing and maintaining geographical coverage;
  • Control expenses pursuant to budget guidelines developed by the Company;
  • Generate sales reports and forecasts as directed by the Company;
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and complaints;
  • Stay current on product and applications knowledge;
  • Attend technical and sales training courses and industry tradeshows;
  • Provide market feedback to the marketing department;
  • Such other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.

Experience and Skills

  • 5-10 years of experience in software sales is required, preferably in the hydrogeological or geological industries;
  • Strong leadership and team management skills;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to develop and implement sales strategies;
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Goal-oriented with a focus on driving results;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
  • High degree of independent judgment and integrity.

Compensation

  • Base salary depending on candidate experience, plus performance-based bonus plan up to 15% of base salary;
  • 3 weeks paid vacation time per year;
