We are seeking a Director of Sales to lead revenue generation, strategic planning, and the overall management of both sales and marketing for the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown St. John's.

The Hilton Garden Inn Downtown St. John's is part of the Manga Hotel Group, a privately held Canadian company that owns and operates 30 hotels with over 5,300 rooms across Canada and in the United States, 16 food and beverage outlets and 5 residential properties with a number of new properties and developments in the pipeline.

The Director of Sales’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Setting the sales and marketing strategy and delivering the Hotel’s revenues, including group rooms, banquets, catering, business transient, and leisure transient segments;
  • Supporting Hotel B2B marketing, digital marketing, social media, public relations, and communications activities;
  • Guiding the e-commerce teams to ensure online Hotel content is accurate and effective;
  • Working with team members to ensure profits are maximized in line with the set targets;
  • Developing and executing departmental expense budget and forecasts;
  • Developing and maintaining detailed and real-time knowledge of market activity;
  • Leading weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales and marketing optimization processes for the Hotel;
  • Responsible for recruiting and retaining all sales and marketing roles;
  • Leading, engaging, and developing team members, including ongoing performance development and career development plans;
  • Overseeing all Group Sales, Business Transient Sales, Leisure Sales, Catering Sales, and Marketing efforts at the Hotel;
  • Facilitating and leading in a culture that is aligned with the Hotel’s and Manga's enterprise goals;
  • Maintaining a high level of engagement with customers from all sales segments;
  • Supporting the team’s high-impact site visits and pre-convention meetings; and
  • Responding to all sales leads or delegating within timeline protocols.

We are looking for someone with Hilton, Marriott or IHG experience as a Director of Sales for a minimum of 3 years.
