Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform traditional accounting duties such as accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all bank reconciliations, support audit activity, and manage intercompany transactions.
  • Manage banking relationships and assist the CFO to secure finance opportunities.
  • Oversee office administration tasks and cohesively work with a small team.
  • Monitor cash flow, analyze performance, and forecast future cash flow needs.
  • Handle accounts receivable/payable and tax remittances.
  • MS Office skills, QuickBooks online and a marine-inspired system is needed.
  • Collaborate with the CFO on cash flow management strategies.
  • Address any accounting discrepancies and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

As the ideal candidate, you will possess a minimum of 2-3 years of experience where you have worked as a general accountant or bookkeeper, managing full-cycle accounting duties. While a CPA designation is not mandatory, candidates with a foundational background in accounting are preferred, especially those with exposure to growing service-based industries. A bachelor’s degree or business diploma with a focus in Accounting/Administration is required. Most importantly, an eagerness to learn and adapt to a growing business combined with a willingness to progress with a cohesive team is vital for success in this role. Acting in a critical position, you will collaborate with all aspects of the business where you will leverage your detailed approach and ability to work in a high-volume seasonal environment and interest in improving efficiencies. Intermediate to advanced MS Office abilities, coupled with experience using QuickBooks Online will be needed.
