Campaign Director

Our client is an established non-profit organization in the GTA area providing compassion and support to people and their families experiencing life limiting illness. They are embarking on the construction of a new site with an anticipated completion at the end of 2026. This is a hybrid work environment requiring 1-2 days in the office located in the GTA.
As the Campaign Director , you will continue to drive fundraising efforts, build strong relations with stakeholders, board of directors, staff and donors and partners. You will ensure all aspects of the major gifts program and the capital campaign move forward.
This includes day-to-day details of campaign implementation, arrangements and notifications for meetings, campaign correspondence, monitoring gift and pledge records, conducting prospect research, and being the lead in database administration. This role will work in collaboration with additional committees and the Campaign Cabinet.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Management and Strategy (80% of time)
- In consultation with the Executive Director, oversee the implementation, management, and evaluation of a campaign strategy for this multi-million-dollar campaign.
- Lead the fundraising planning process for the capital campaign and produce effective strategies to achieve targets.
- Plan for and engage the people and resources required for a successful campaign, including campaign staff, leadership volunteers, and internal partners.
- Prospect Management: Develop and maintain a pipeline and manage a full portfolio of donors including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors.
Staff and Volunteer Management (20% of time)
- Recruit, build and mentor the campaign/fundraising staff team.
- Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to direct reports.
- Serve as the lead staff person supporting the Campaign Cabinet and other assigned campaign volunteers.
- Undertake prospect review and evaluation with campaign volunteers, Board members, leadership and staff, and others as required.
Required Experience
- 7 – 10 years of experience raising funds
- Track record of securing six figure major gifts
- Experience organizing, implementing and leading a capital campaign for a like-sized organization
- Exceptional communication skills
- Project management skills
- Experience with and knowledge of the prospect research process and pipeline management
- A people focused team player who works collaboratively
- Politically astute with a high level of emotional intelligence
- Flexibility to attend events outside of normal work hours when required
- Post-secondary education in relevant field
