Primary Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Manager to join our team and support us with content creation and special projects. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, creating compelling content across various platforms, and driving brand awareness and engagement. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong background in content creation, digital marketing, and project management.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute comprehensive marketing plans for both digital and in-person activities.
  • Produce high-quality content for various platforms including blogs, social media, websites, and email campaigns.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand voice and messaging.
  • Manage content calendar and projects to ensure timely delivery of content.
  • Assist with optimizing digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing).
  • Analyze campaign performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain and enhance the company’s brand image and ensure consistency across all marketing materials.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
  • Use data to inform marketing strategies and content development.
  • Manage marketing projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to execute marketing initiatives.
  • Research the latest trends and propose ideas for content creation.
  • Support Digital Marketing and Communication teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with students and internal departments to promote GUS Med and Vet.
  • Implement and manage content creation procedures and processes, evaluating existing practices and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage and work directly with contractors and freelancers.

Position Requirements

Competencies:

  • Ability to create high-quality and creative content both online and offline.
  • Excellent, in-depth knowledge and experience working with multiple social media platforms and other marketing tools.
  • Ability to manage and drive content from the creation to the evaluation stage.
  • Strong attention to detail, project management, and time management skills.
  • A sense of aesthetics and a love for excellent copy writing and witty communication. Skilled in creating, editing, and promoting written and visual content.
  • The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Ability to grasp future digital technology trends and act on them proactively.

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience creating content and working within a marketing team or agency.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing.
  • Excellent English writing and communication skills.
  • Past experience working in the higher education sector is a plus.
  • Will require to work occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Proficiency in full Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Suites.
