Pauktuutit, as the national voice of Inuit women in Canada, has a key role to play in ensuring a gender-equality lens in policies impacting Inuit Women and in promoting greater progress in priority areas for Inuit women and children, across health and well-being, violence, and abuse prevention, safety, and socio-economic development. Our ability to do so depends heavily on partnerships across government departments, key funders, Inuit community groups and other stakeholder organizations.

Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the senior leadership team, the Vice President, Operations is focused on Pauktuutit operations in support of the organization’s mandate, maximizing delivery on business goals and objectives to ensure impactful outcomes for Inuit.

This includes overseeing the Strategic plan, Governance, Policy and Knowledge Mobilization, Finance, Communications, Human Resources, IT and reporting functions. The position ultimately oversees consistency in organizational policies, procedures and practices and most importantly sustaining a workplace culture that uplifts, inspires the team to collaborate, innovate and deliver great work to benefit our team and Inuit more broadly. You have a reputation for building and executing on effective strategies in non-profit Finance and Operations.

Strategic Planning and monitoring

Strategic Thinking and the ability to understand the organization’s position relative to what’s happening in the external environment, with ability to scale from big picture to details anticipating emerging trends and envisioning the right strategies including change management to move from vision to implementation, tracking and measuring impact.
Project Management and the ability to understand and communicate interdependencies that lead to the critical path; The ability to proactively plan, prioritize and meet competing deadlines for multiple projects.
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with ability to build trusting relationships, credibility, with a wide range of stakeholders and ability to influence stakeholders to win-win outcomes.
Critical thinking with ability to perform in-depth analyses of a range of extremely complex problems requiring evaluation of multiple intangible variables and alternative solutions, leveraging discretion and sound judgement to make accurate and timely decisions.
Excellent communicator, presenter, and storyteller – clear, concise, and articulate both written and verbal with the ability to write high quality, compelling messages for various mediums and audiences and a keen eye for detail.
Commitment to high professional standards, and leading/building high performance teams in a diverse workplace including a hybrid or remote context.
Experience leading organizations, in particular with a focus on working together to effectively deliver projects and advocate for better futures.
Demonstrated experience overseeing non-profit finances and project based financial commitments and ensuring compliance with contribution agreement requirements.
credentials in public administration, public policy, human rights, business management and/or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Minimum of 6 years of experience providing support directly to senior management in a similar organization and supporting one or multiple senior executives or board members.

Experience in managing multi-disciplinary functions (Finance, Human Resources, Information Management/ Information Technology (IM/IT), Communications)
Experience enabling government projects, grants and contributions processes is desirable.
CPA is a definite asset.
