Responsibilities:
Adhere to compliance guidelines throughout processes (OSHA, FDA, HIPAA)
Prepare IV sets and medication for Dobutamine Stress Testing.
Prepare paperwork and computer for testing.
Must possess a thorough understanding of cardiac rhythms.
Administer medications, treatments, and other procedures as prescribed by physicians.
Review patient data on EMR pretest. Chart prep as needed.
Triage all referrals for required procedures according to Lakeshore Cardiology standard of practice.
Obtain from the patient up to date history, including medications taken within 48 hours of testing and all information required as per dobutamine protocol; enter data into Stress computer
Perform dobutamine stress testing as per procedure.
Execute weekly crash cart maintenance checks; chart/log and notify office manager of any expired/malfunction needing attention. Check all other equipment on the crash cart in a similar manner.
Discard any medication, IV sets etc., between patients and at the end of shift.
Maintain a clean and safe work area, with patient safety a priority
Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and changes in conditions, treatment plans and post-discharge care.
Ensure adherence to all clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Maintain patient and office confidentiality.
Contribute to office through computer messaging, staying up to date and current with all Clinic communication
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment plans and post-treatment care
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, and documentation of care provided.
Assist/perform diagnostic test. *Holter monitors, ECGs, AMBP monitors.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
Qualifications:
Registered RN or RPN with current provincial license in good standing.
CPR, ACLS, and BCLS Certification.
Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA compliance.
Knowledge of EMR * Cerebrum Software System, clinical connect, OLIS *labs, HRM.
Knowledge of ECG interpretation.
Continuing education to meet the requirements of this position.
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
