Senior Public Relations Manager (Canada)About HUB International LimitedHUB International Limited is a leading North American insurance brokerage that provides a broad array of property and casualty, life and health, employee benefits, reinsurance, investment and risk management products and services throughout offices located in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.More information is available at Senior Public Relations Manager will be responsible for managing HUB's communication initiatives in Canada, specifically with media relations. Duties include leading the development of media materials and digital content, managing HUB's proactive PR strategy through media outreach, executive positioning, thought leadership strategies and analyzing and reporting on media coverage. This role will report to the Director of Corporate Communications.Major Responsibilities:Serve as a key member of HUB’s communications team - working to promote and protect HUB's brand reputation in CanadaDevelop and execute proactive media relations plans - including securing and managing a wide range of media opportunities, from interviews to leadership-authored contributed columnsLead development of media relationships with targeted publications, potentially in collaboration with an external agency /consultantsAnticipate potential public relations opportunities and issues and play a leadership role in addressing them effectivelyDraft a wide variety of communications materials for internal and external audiences - with a keen eye for detail and accuracy, including Executive Management Team communicationsDevelop strong working relationships with the media and internal subject matter experts across multiple functions, including the President of Canada, and business segments to advance HUB’s brand reputationContinuously update HUB Canada media materials including overview presentations and digital/visual assetsManage the tracking and internal reporting of HUB Canada media coverage and performanceCollaborate with all Communications and Corporate Marketing team members to help achieve HUB's overall brand marketing, public relations, social media, internal communications goalsPerform other duties as assignedBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related areaMinimum of 6-8 years of experience in a corporate or agency environmentExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong attention to detail and keen focus on qualityHave a full understanding of media needs and media relationshipsGood creative writing skillsStrong track record of producing press releases and other publicity materialFamiliar with marketing and content strategies, media campaigns and implementing them successfullyFamiliar with internal communications strategies and change management supportProficiency in the use of word processing software toolsKnowledge of media databases and software preferred (e.g., Cision/Gorkana, Brandwatch, Critical Mention, Meltwater)The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $105,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
