HEAVY EQUIPMENT FIELD TECHNICIAN

Edmonton, AB

Sterling Crane has an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Equipment Field Technician based in our location in Edmonton, AB. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime required and some travel to various site locations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Troubleshooting, repairing, testing and inspecting both mobile and crawler hydraulic cranes, boom trucks, trailers and light duty vehicles within an industry leading PM program.
  2. Determine parts required for service and repair to equipment in Sterling Crane's Fleet.
  3. Provide detailed repair comments in both paper and electronic work order format.
Qualifications:
  • Journeyman preferred but willing to accept 3rd or 4th year apprentice is preferred but all will be considered.
  • The successful candidate must demonstrate safe work practices, follow company policies and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong working knowledge of Link-Belt, Liebherr, Grove, Demag and Tadano crane manufacturers is an asset.
  • CVIP license or willing to enter the CVIP program.
  • Working experience in electrical and hydraulic systems is required.
  • Must supply own hand tools, and a valid driver’s license.
  • The successful candidate will be required to be in good standing with IUOE 955 or become members of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.
