Here’s what you’ll need to do:
~ Develop and implement a comprehensive internal storytelling strategy that showcases the company’s purpose (helping Canadians Live Life Well) and ESG efforts (fighting climate change and advancing social equity); recommend and implement new tactics as part of this strategy where appropriate.

~ Proactively uncover story ideas by establishing relationships across the business - people like your fellow communicators, operators, merchants, store managers, pharmacists, DC leaders, to name a few.

~ Institute a content calendar that plots stories across all possible communication channels, on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual cadence. Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of tactics, continuously adopting data-driven opportunities for improvement.

~ Creatively leverage a variety of mediums and approaches to effectively storytell, including written pieces, short- and long-form video, podcasts, live presentations, digital signage, store activation guides, and more.

~ Partner with external communication counterparts to identify opportunities for content cross-promotion.

~ Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in internal communication, digital storytelling, etc.

~ Support the implementation of a LinkedIn strategy for the organization’s Management Board.

~ Support with the management of several internal events, including VP Meetings, VP Offsite, Quarterly Results Town Halls, and more.

Ideally you will have:
~ University degree (preferably with a specialization in English, Communication or Journalism) with 7-9 years of related experience doing most if not all of the things noted above.

~ Excellent written, verbal, audio- and video-based storytelling skills, with an ability to produce in various styles and formats.

~ Strong understanding of various communication channels and approaches, and the ability to select the most appropriate ones for different messages and target groups.

~ Track record of planning, executing and measuring strategic communication plans that drive business results.

~ Interest in leveraging AI to simplify and guide creative work.

~ Proven ability to support and counsel senior leaders.

~ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively within cross-functional teams.

~ Experience with script development, video production, event and project management.

~ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and PowerPoint).

~ Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to change and meet timelines (without sacrificing quality).

~ A positive attitude, a desire to learn, a willingness to roll up your sleeves to get work done either independently or as part of a team.

~ Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and ethical communication practices.

~ A sense of humour.

~ Assets: knowledge of key social equity and climate change issues; bilingualism (English and French).

~ A portfolio will be requested; a writing test may be administered.
