Overview: Our government client seeks an experienced Senior Business Process Consultant to provide strategic guidance to the Director, Financial Systems Integration (DFSI) in support of the department's multiple SAP initiatives.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading business process transformation, driving improvements through technology, tools, and integrated processes, with a minimum of two projects, each lasting at least six consecutive months.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as an SAP FM consultant, encompassing tasks such as developing and documenting functional, business, and system requirements specifications, as well as analyzing information to establish functional/business needs in SAP projects.
  • Extensive background in complex SAP projects for federal, provincial, municipal departments, agencies, or Crown corporations involving multiple stakeholders, with complexity defined by significant scope, dollar value, and integrated processes across modules.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in providing strategic advice and formal briefings to senior management on interdepartmental and departmental change initiatives requiring alignment and integration.
  • Three (3) years of experience in developing stakeholder SAP FM requirements for SAP S/4HANA projects.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in providing advice and support in at least two (2) of the following SAP modules: Funds Management (FM), Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), Material Management (MM), Special Purpose Ledger (SPL), Salary Forecasting Tool (SFT), FIS Interfaces, Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Credit Card processes, Project Systems (PS), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).
  • Experience as an SAP FM consultant on transformational projects, demonstrating integration with modules such as Financial Accounting (FI), Material Management (MM), Special Purpose Ledger (SPL), Salary Forecasting Tool (SFT), Plant Maintenance (PM), Asset Accounting (AA), Project Systems (PS), Controlling (CO).
  • Four (4) projects with hands-on experience in leading business requirements gathering workshops and defining to-be processes in SAP implementation projects.

Tasks

  • Assist in mapping current financial processes to S4/HANA to-be processes in the SAP Funds Management (FM) module, including earmarked funds, budget management, availability control, FM master data, derivation rules, cash control, fund accounting, FM integration, and year-end closing operations.
  • Lead business requirements gathering workshops, aligning on financial process improvements and pain points to inform Defense Resources Business Modernization project (DRBM) and Model Company for Canada (MC4C) working sessions with Other Government Departments (OGD) and other L1s in the department.
  • Identify the SAP S4/HANA "as-is" state and develop a crosswalk to the "to-be" state. Establish organizational change management, communication, and training strategies and plans.
  • Support DFSI and ADM (Fin) in identifying, assessing, and mitigating current financial pain points on various SAP interdependent projects.
  • Advise senior management and identify linkages with other interdepartmental initiatives requiring alignment and integration with ADM (Fin) initiatives.
