About the Role:

Join METI's Business Development and Partnerships team, where you'll help shape our dynamic future and drive our go-to-market strategy. Working cross-functionally, you'll leverage both quantitative and qualitative analysis to forge forward-looking commercial partnerships that align with METI’s strategic business objectives. As a key player in this entrepreneurial and results-oriented team, you will significantly impact defining, developing, and executing METI's commercial deployment.

This role is hybrid, based in Calgary, and reports to the Executive Vice President.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop pioneering business development strategies to identify and pursue new partnership opportunities.
  • Create and execute market-aligned sales strategies.
  • Develop plans and forecast sales targets and growth projections.
  • Build relationships with key partners, including C-level executives.
  • Identify new contacts and business opportunities using networking tools like LinkedIn.
  • Reach out to potential clients to establish relationships and arrange meetings.
  • Structure and negotiate custom partnership agreements with mutual incentives and balanced terms.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of colleagues internally (Operations, Product, Legal, Finance teams) and externally at all levels to achieve growth.
  • Communicate business and product requirements in collaboration with technical team members, aligning with METI's overall strategy and goals.
  • Attend industry events, exhibitions, and conferences.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to meet with partners.
  • Prepare sales presentations and commercial materials and participate in sales meetings.
  • Prepare reports for management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or a similar partner-facing role in the technology or automotive sector.
  • Experience structuring and negotiating strategic partnerships or custom agreements.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-team efforts (Product, Legal, Finance, Operations) on sensitive, complex, or confidential plans.
  • Desire to build innovative solutions and manage the associated uncertainties.
  • Ability to promote business, legal, and technical points with external and internal teams, including at the executive level.
  • Experience developing and implementing scalable solutions to complex problems within a rapidly-evolving organization.
  • Proven sales and contact networking record.
  • Experience in sales, marketing, or related fields.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multitask.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work proactively with minimal guidance and handle uncertainty.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and HubSpot.
