Reporting to the Vice President of Retail Operations and located in Halifax, Nova-Scotia the Director of Retail Operations, Atlantic Region will efficiently manage our Atlantic Retail operations, including our retail corporate service centers under Speedy Glass, Appel Auto Glass, as well as our Franchise Network operating under the same banners. The incumbent will provide a high level of customer service, while optimizing people and culture, and financial resources to ensure profitability and operational excellence. His/her leadership, teamwork and managing skills will also be important for creating and maintaining a partnership with the employees in the Retail network in his region. Lastly, he/she will have to build and maintain solid business relations with all areas of the company, including working closely with the Wholesale and Distribution function and other central support teams to deliver the business.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Leading People & Relationships
    1. Contribute to the succession plans for the team’s key positions;
    2. Build and manage the team by focusing on coaching, development and training, all of which in keeping with Belron Canada’ people & culture values and policies;
    3. Support the development of Regional Managers and Service Center Managers;
    4. Leading the Atlantic Franchisee Network in close collaboration of the ATL Regional Partnership Committee;
    5. Develop relationships of trust with contributors;
    6. Develop partnerships internally as well as externally, in particular with respect to the Service Delivery Team, Operational Performance Team, Sales & Marketing, Wholesale & Distribution;
    7. Present in the field and leading by example, promote a proactive and open communication;
  2. Leading and delivering the Business
    1. Improve the profitability of the Retail network (Corporate and Franchisee) through individual and regional action plans;
    2. Ensure the network’s operational performance is achieved an optimal level;
    3. Deliver on Key KPI driving our business;
    4. Efficiently administer the financial resources according to the allotted budgets;
    5. Evaluate the team’s results based on performance indicators (KPI);
    6. Identify and feed regional market trends to internal partners and stakeholders;
    7. Manage all corporate retail operational sites and oversee Franchisee adherence and compliance to Belron’s strategies and business initiatives;
    8. With the support of the Real Estate Team, actively manage ATL corporate network in terms of footprint development and optimization (openings, relocations, closures, white spots).
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Formal Education
  • Bachelor of Business Administration – MBA is an asset
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing multiple units, preferably in the retail industry;
  • Experience in managing and supporting a franchise network;
  • Skilled at being well informed on the activities in his regions/territory;
  • Excellent operator who ensures initiatives are carried out; Business acumen;
  • Skilled at leading and motivating a team; Strong communication and problem-solving skills; Very strong customer service orientation;
  • Marked aptitude for communication;
  • Desire and ability to work in a dynamic environment;
  • Skilled at developing, implementing and supporting new initiatives;
  • Motivated by his/her own personal growth and that of his/her team;
  • Must be available to travel across the Atlantic provinces to visit sites on a regular basis;
  • Requires travel to Montreal (4 to 6 times / year);
