Monitors the contractor’s compliance with professional and regulatory requirements, technical specifications, design drawings and owner requirements.Monitor’s construction progress and quantity tracking and provides regular site reports that include all observations, concerns, potential issues to ensure project deliverables comply with approved designs and project requirements.Develops Daily Site Reports.Interprets and informs on Design-Build Agreement as appropriate. Attends construction meetings and supports the coordination and management of project interfaces between contractors and the mitigation of construction risks.Provides feedback on the validity of claims received from the contractor.Provides support to the Province’s Quality Manager, Traffic Manager and Construction Manager with respect to identifying potential non-conformances.Qualifications:Degree in Civil Engineering, registered as a professional engineer, and extensive experience in construction monitoring and inspecting activities on large heavy civil projects or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with structural works, civil works, specifically bridge construction.Experience analyzing potential issues and developing solutions to mitigate impacts.Knowledge of Quality Management principles.Ability to read and interpret drawings, specification, codes and standards.Sound judgement, excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and prioritizing skills to anticipate and assess situations and determine best solution or course of action.Exceptional relationship, communication, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
