About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Engineering Projects Department at the Vancouver Airport Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a diverse range of construction projects, with a focus on airfield and apron facilities, lighting, and utilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned capital projects, including developing project requirements, scope, budget, and schedule
  • Prepare and deliver project implementation plans in collaboration with Airport Operations and Maintenance, while ensuring construction safety and environmental stewardship
  • Assist in the preparation and evaluation of Request for Proposal and Tender documents, including scope of work definition, technical requirements, and schedule constraints
  • Manage design teams to meet desired project outcomes, adhering to scope, schedule, and budget
  • Maintain and manage project budgets, including forecasting costs and risk management
  • Liaise with internal Airport Authority departments and external stakeholders throughout the projects, including managing construction contracts, work progress, change orders, payments, and disputes
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years' experience managing construction projects in the design, construction, or consulting industry, supplemented by a post-secondary degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of construction industry practices and standards, particularly for heavy civil work; knowledge of airport operations is an asset
  • Strong project management, organization, and documentation abilities
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project
