The Short Story

We are NetEase Games, one of the most successful video games publishers in Asia. We are expanding into the North American (NA) and European (EU) markets and need one more researcher to help us meet the high volume of research projects our expansion is creating. As the newest addition to our NA user research team, reporting to our User Research Lead, you will gain valuable hands-on experience as you help more experienced researchers execute on a variety of different research projects.

Meet your future team

You will work with the NA arm of NetEase Game’s Global Research Department (GRD). NetEase Games takes data and insights very seriously, and our international GRD teams with state-of-the-art research labs are proof of that. The NA team, composed of researchers of all levels of seniority, with various research expertise and varied cultural background, is the newest addition to our global workforce and is already growing fast. Our operations cover the spectrum of exploratory, generative and evaluative research projects and the games we work on cover multiple genres across mobile, PC and console. For you, this means exposure to a wide variety of research methodologies, as well as exposure to best practices in study design, project management and more. Our ambition is to become one of the most effective and successful games user research teams in the world, and we are just getting started.

What you will do

  • Updating our database and monitoring data quality (e.g. look for duplicates, missing info, etc.)
  • Organizing recruitment activities for various projects, including organizing email campaigns, online screenings, scheduling and Discord communications

Goals of the Internship

  • Grow our playtesting panel to 3,000 unique players
  • Maintain a specific ratio of players across various gaming platforms, genres and level of expertise
  • Improve the efficiency with which we select, screen, schedule, communicate with and update the profile of players within our panel
