Position Description

The Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) is undergoing expansion and as a result, are seeking a Director of Member Services to enhance their ability to support members more effectively.


Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Member Services is responsible for leading and enhancing the Member Services department, with a focus on driving the success of the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program, and Member Outreach and Support services. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing strategies that align with the organization’s mission, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring that ACSA delivers exceptional value to its members. The Director will also manage financial resources and provide strategic leadership to achieve organizational goals and enhance member engagement. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining ACSA’s leadership in the industry and advancing its commitment to workplace safety. The location for this position is Edmonton, AB.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead the COR program and Member Outreach services, aligning strategic plans with ACSA’s mission.
  • Drive initiatives in business development, relationship management, and industry collaboration.

Program Oversight:

  • Ensure the COR program meets industry standards and continues to deliver significant value to ACSA members.
  • Identify opportunities for program expansion and service enhancements in collaboration with Sr. Leadership.

Member Outreach and Support:

  • Mentor the Manager in crafting and implementing strategies to boost member engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
  • Deliver exceptional service through innovative programs aligned with ACSA’s goals.

Organizational Leadership:

  • Collaborate with ACSA’s Sr. leadership team to drive organizational direction and success.
  • Represent ACSA at industry events, advocating for member needs and safety standards.

Financial Management:

  • Develop annual budgets and resource plans for Member Services, optimizing performance to meet strategic priorities.


Candidate Profile

Education:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Commerce/Business Administration
  • Master’s degree or relevant professional certification considered an asset

Certificates:

  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO/NHSA) designation
  • Occupational Health & Safety Certificate
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)

Knowlege:

  • 10 years of related experience
  • 7 years experience in a leadership role preferably within the construction, safety, or membership-driven industry
  • Equivalencies may be considered.
  • Extensive experience in member services, with a proven ability to develop and implement strategies that effectively boost engagement, satisfaction, and retention with a lens toward improving health and safety.
  • Knowledge of program management principles, especially in managing and enhancing safety certification programs like COR.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards that impact workplace safety and certification programs.

  • Project & Process Management: Experienced in overseeing complex projects across multiple departments, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with goals.
