Overview:


We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join a key Oil & Gas producer on a multi-year project in Alberta. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing a variety of engineering, procurement, and construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to produce deliverables with minimal supervision.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
  • Lead and coordinate engineering activities for construction and brownfield projects, ensuring the timely and efficient completion of all project phases.
  • Collaboration and Planning:
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets. Ensure all team members are aligned with project objectives and deadlines.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Provide technical guidance and support through all phases of the project, from design and procurement to construction and commissioning.
  • Risk Assessment:
  • Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and integrity of the project and its activities.
  • Project Monitoring and Control:
  • Monitor project progress, identify any deviations from the project plan, and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines and budget.
  • Compliance and Regulatory:
  • Interface with regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare project documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and presentations to ensure clarity and accurate project tracking.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Certification:
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of Alberta.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and leading projects within the oil and gas industry.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles, construction practices, and project management methodologies.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a hands-on attitude and the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Work Environment:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to Safety:
  • A strong focus on safety and environmental stewardship throughout all phases of the project.
  • Preferred:
  • A process engineering background is preferred, providing additional expertise in the execution and management of complex projects.
