Our valued client, a key Midstream client are seeking a Project Manager to join their Calgary ream on a long term contract basis.


Position Overview


The Projects group is seeking a hands-on candidate with a strong track record of delivering diverse projects, including pipelines, storage terminals, and production facilities. This individual will play a crucial role in developing and executing Energy Optimization and ESG initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, self-motivation, and technical expertise to build upon the team's strong performance.



Key Responsibilities


  • Safety and Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and regulatory adherence throughout project execution.
  • Project Management: Provide strategic leadership for a suite of projects, managing safety, scope, cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Scope and Planning: Prepare scopes of work, develop schedules and budgets, and implement project execution strategies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Interact with internal and external stakeholders to lead multiple small projects.
  • Administrative Efficiency: Efficiently handle administrative tasks, including meeting notes and management presentations.
  • Mentorship: Support and mentor junior team members and engineers in training (EITs).


Key Qualifications


  • Education: Degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering; ideally registered or close to registering as a Professional Engineer in Alberta.
  • Experience: 5-15 years in mechanical, chemical, process, or production engineering, particularly with brownfield projects in the midstream sector
  • Project Coordination: Proven ability to manage 2-3 projects simultaneously, with a solid understanding of project execution processes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; MS Project experience is an asset but not required.
  • Work Ethic: Strong work ethic, self-starter attitude, and quick learner; open to coaching and professional development.
  • Office Availability: Expected to work in the office Monday to Thursday, with flexibility for Fridays (typically WFH).
