Job Summary:

The Production Manager will oversee and coordinate all aspects of the production process. The Production Manager will report directly to the Technical Director and General Manager. This position will be managing 30 people and two production supervisors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement production schedules to meet lead times.
  • Monitor production to address production issues, equipment failures, or material consumption.
  • Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead and manage the production team, providing clear direction, support, and training to ensure a high level of performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork within the production department.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, identify skills gaps, and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities.
  • Process Improvement and Cost Management: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and lower costs.
  • Monitor production costs and energy consumption
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance team to ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained and downtime is minimized.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all production activities comply with company standard and material specifications
  • Troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of the issue.
  • Safety and Environmental Compliance: Promote and enforce a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective measures.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations
  • Inventory and Materials Management: Oversee the procurement of raw materials and supplies, ensuring cost-effective purchasing.
  • Forecast manufacturing needs of raw materials.
  • Manage inventory accuracy and conduct regular audits.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or similar in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a production management role (or similar) within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and complex production processes.
  • Non-woven industry experience is an asset


Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Understanding of mechanical principles and functions of machinery
  • Proficiency in production management software and ERP systems.
  • Understanding of quality control standards and safety regulations.
