We are on-the-hunt for a collaborative, intuitive People Business Partner with a consultative and collaborative approach to employee relations, employee engagement, process, and policies. In this role, you'll leverage a knack for strategic planning and a flair for critical thinking to counsel and advise employees and leaders. As an innovative thinker with an innate drive, you'll deploy critical thinking and thought leadership skills to strategically learn our business and internal customers, while working hand-in-hand with the VP of people to lead the people agenda and strategy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Leading on cyclical activities such as Employee Engagement, Reward, and Performance Management in partnership with the People Centres of Excellence
  • Conduct employee relations investigations, analyse organizational issues, and work in partnership with HR leadership to develop and execute plans to address problem areas
  • Dealing with all people related queries related to topics such as but not limited to interpersonal concerns, under-performance and employee relations
  • Support recruitment as needed, own and lead new hire orientation and successful onboarding
  • Building people leadership capability in the business by coaching, challenging and influencing managers as they create a high-performance culture and drive high levels of employee engagement in their teams
  • Own and execute HR policies and procedures for Canada, ensuring appropriate legal (ESA, HSA) and organizational compliance
  • Partner with larger HR organization to understand, communicate and uphold local policies and procedures in operating countries outside Canada
  • Leave management: manage short term and long term, parental leaves supporting employees as required
  • With support from the VP, People - driving local People initiatives i.e. around well-being and diversity & inclusion, and creating training material to support development
  • Supporting Performance Management (improvement plans, performance review process, manager coaching)
  • HR Analytics and reporting through HRIS system. Partner with stakeholders to understand and deliver needed information


What We Want From You:

  • In-depth understanding of current employment law and HR best practice
  • Experienced in working as a partner to managers on all aspects of the employee lifecycle
  • Solid understanding of current employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience supporting managers with confidence in partnering and advising. A good level of experience of ER and advising. Ability to confidently support, mentor and challenge managers as they experience ER challenges within their team
  • A natural authority with good judgment; quick thinking, results-orientated, and pro-active
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, comfortable with changing priorities and ability to work closely with leadership and pivot with momentum.
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal) with strong influencing skills and the ability to establish trust and respect at all levels
  • Evidence of independent working and decision making with the ability to identify priorities and act upon them in a timely manner
  • Excellent analytical, planning and organizational skills
  • A track record of introducing new initiatives, reducing cost, managing change and delivering tangible results to the business
  • Attention to detail – in order to drive continuous improvement in day-to-day practices and processes
