  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Governance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of data management activities, including data profiling, lineage analysis, metadata management, data masking, anonymization, data residency, access control, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, etc. This role will play a critical part in tracking data from creation to retirement, enforcing data retention policies, archival procedures, secure data disposal, and managing the "Data Marketplace" to empower users across the organization to access and utilize data assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough data profiling and lineage analysis to understand data quality, relationships, and dependencies.
  • Identify data anomalies, inconsistencies, and gaps, and develop strategies to address them.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive metadata repositories to document data assets, definitions, and usage.
  • Ensure metadata accuracy, consistency, and relevance to support effective data governance.
  • Implement data masking and anonymization techniques to protect sensitive information.
  • Ensure compliance with data residency requirements and access controls based on consent and policies.
  • Define and enforce data access controls based on consent, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure data governance policies are followed and data security is maintained.
  • Manage the "Data Marketplace" to facilitate easy access and utilization of data assets by authorized users.
  • Define and assign roles, responsibilities, and permissions related to data governance activities.
  • Ensure clear accountability and transparency in data management processes
  • Classify data based on sensitivity (e.g., PHI, PII) and apply appropriate security measures such as encryption and access controls.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, and data protection.
  • Strong understanding of data profiling, metadata management, data masking, and anonymization techniques.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and data residency regulations.
  • Experience with data access controls, roles, permissions, and data marketplace management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and drive data governance initiatives.
  • Experience with Data Warehousing, Data Lakes , preferred
  • Experience with Data Governance tools such as Informatica, DataPlex and/or Collibra
