As a Cloud Migration Specialist, you will work with a Data Elephant team to help clients in Canada at various stages of their cloud data journey. Our projects centre around designing and building modern data architectures on AWS, including integrations, platform migrations, ETL, data lake / warehouses and data insights, as well as overall orchestration and deployment on AWS.


If you’re excited to work with a tightly-knit team of data consultants, engineers and developers solving hard problems the right way using cutting-edge data collection, transformation, analysis, and monitoring tools in the cloud, this could be an exciting role for you.


For this project, you will be joining a team that is working on a team that is planning and executing a migration for a client to a new AWS environment.


Core Responsibilities:

Requirements:


• 5+ years of experience working in Data Migration or Cloud migration including hands-on data migration projects

• Experience with CI/CD tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation

• 2-3 years of cloud technology experience with AWS-native data services is a must

• Ability to work as part of a team of Cloud Experts while also successfully managing individual tasks and projects with minimal guidance

• Keen attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication skills that facilitate teamwork and interaction with colleagues and internal clients

• Strong skills in AWS EC2, Cloud Formation, IAM, Document Databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, CouchDB, Apache Soir), Git/Github branching and committing, and Deployment pipelines

  • Project/Technical communication: Have worked on large-scale implementations or migrations (data or otherwise), and have demonstrated/presented on progress and status (including blockers or issues as they arise)


Experience in DocumentDB, DMS, Monitoring and Performance evaluation of databases and applications, logging implementation and aggregation, Big Data and ETL an asset.
