Position Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic to join our team in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration and air conditioning systems in commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to ensuring the efficient functioning of Refrigeration and HVAC systems.


Responsibilities:

·        Install, inspect, and maintain various refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including split systems, rooftop units, chillers, and ventilation systems.

·        Diagnose and repair malfunctions or defects in equipment, components, or systems using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.

·        Perform routine maintenance tasks in accordance with apex Refrigeration policies and procedures.

·        Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute installation or repair projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

·        Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime.

·        Use CRM software to document repair information, equipment information, complete safety documentation, and log time for payroll.

·        Receive and execute instructions from job leads and supervisors.

·        Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients, addressing concerns, and explaining technical information in a clear manner.

·        Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and guidelines.

·        Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

·        Drive and maintain a service vehicle.


Mandatory Requirements:

At a minimum, an applicant must possess the following qualifications:

·        Red Seal Journeyman Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic or Indentured Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Apprentice in the province of Alberta.

·        Class 5 Driver’s License with acceptable abstract.

·        Criminal Record Check


Other Requirements:

·        Prior experience in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning industry is considered an asset but is not mandatory. We are willing to train the right candidate.

·        Hold safety certifications (TDG, Fall Protection, etc.) or willing to obtain.

·        Strong mechanical aptitude and work ethic.

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·        Ability to perform the physical tasks of the position, including but not limited to lifting objects, climbing ladders, working in restricted spaces, and working at heights.

·        Ability to operate a service vehicle legally and safely.

·        Ability to participate in a on-call rotation and respond to service calls after hours, on weekends, and holidays. 


Compensation is negotiable based on experience and relevant qualifications.
