About the Role

Trotter & Morton Group of Companies is a leading provider of 24/7 preventive and predictive mechanical system maintenance and repair services to condominiums, commercial, and institutional buildings.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to join our team of experienced personnel. The successful candidate will contribute to our team by bringing a willingness to learn and an entrepreneurial spirit to every project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or other specifications to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Measure and lay out reference points for installation, and assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components using hand and power tools.
  • Measure and cut piping, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
  • Start up systems and test for leaks using testing devices, and recharge systems with refrigerant, check and test regulators, calibrate systems, and perform routine maintenance or servicing.
  • Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems.
  • May install, maintain, and repair equipment in refrigerated trucks used to transport food or medical supplies.
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches, and communicate with the Dispatch team for personnel scheduling and service optimization.
  • May prepare work estimates for clients.
Requirements
  • Trade Certification/Red Seal
  • Chiller and Cooling Tower experience is considered an asset
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Ability to learn on the job
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to take instructions from co-workers and management
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and utilize planning and time management skills to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Ability to lead by example
  • Ability to teach apprentices
