The Computer Software Technician (CST) provides software support and training for a variety of applications including creating and maintaining user guides and other software related documentation. As a member of the Admissions & Enrolment department, the Computer Software Technician will provide front-line support for the board’s student information system and assist with maintaining and compiling student data for reporting purposes.

Required :

Two (2) year college diploma in information technology, business or discipline relevant to the Computer Software Technician position. Two (2) years of job-related experience. Candidates may also be considered with a minimum combination of four (4) years educational equivalency and job-related experience relevant to the Computer Software Technician position. Experience providing front-line system and software application support. Experience delivering training in a variety of settings. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills (written and oral). A valid drivers license, reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout the school district as required.

Preferred :

Knowledge of Simcoe County District School Board Policies and Administrative Procedures Memoranda. Knowledge of Ministry of Education policy and procedures related to enrolment registers, attendance records and OnSIS reporting. Experience working with student information systems and large databases. Experience working in an educational environment.

Testing will be required during the selection process.

This is a full-time 12-month position, forty (40) hours per week . The duties, responsibilities and requirements for the position are not limited to the above but may include all of those in the job description for Computer Software Technician.

Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees, even if currently in receipt of an OMERS pension.
