With decades of combined industry experience, our personnel are wireless communications experts. Specializing in two-way voice, data, AVL, LTE, DAS, and broadband systems we work with manufacturers to bring modern, robust, and practical solutions to our clientele. 


Five9 Solutions is counted on for the end-to-end sales & service needs of our clients including communication system design, installation, repairs, and ongoing support.

The Role:


  • This role has a mix of in-shop and in-field responsibilities.
  • Program and prep new equipment and rental equipment for the sales and rental departments.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and test equipment such as radio transceivers, and communications infrastructure components.
  • Support commissioning of communication systems.
  • Perform on-site visits to help determine installation requirements for sales proposals and provide internal advice on technical matters to the sales and technical departments.
  • Install communications equipment in-shop and in field environments including inside buildings, tower sites, and various kinds of vehicles (Fire Trucks, Police Vehicles, Heavy Equipment, Passenger Vehicles).
  • Perform preventative maintenance on communication systems.
  • Use remote tools to diagnose and correct communication system issues.
  • Some regional/overnight travel may be required.
  • Paid rotational on-call will eventually be required.


Job Requirements (Skills, Qualifications):


  • Diploma in the field such as Electronic Engineering Technician/Technologist (Preferred)
  • Combination of equivalent training & relevant work experience.
  • A working understanding of RF Fundamentals as they pertain to Land Mobile Radio (LMR), with a desire to gain hands-on field experience.
  • An understanding of electronics, including AC/DC systems, cabling, etc.
  • An understanding of feedline and transmission principles, antennas, and filtering.
  • Knowledge of basic electronics troubleshooting.
  • An understanding of basic vehicle electronics, and experience working with vehicles.
  • A good understanding of working with Windows PC hardware, and related peripherals.
  • A functional understanding of modern telephony would be an asset (VoIP, LTE/5G, etc.)
  • Good mechanical aptitude, and knowledge of basic tools and basic electronic test equipment.

  • The ability to track time and tasks in a work order or ticketing environment.
  • The ability to create/maintain technical documentation and diagrams.
  • Experience working in a team environment, but also capable of working independently.
  • Time management, with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical people.
  • General customer service and support skills.

  • Must have a valid driver's license & clean driving record.
  • Must pass a criminal background check & maintain police security clearances.
  • Must comply with drug and alcohol testing policy.
  • Drug screenings, Driver abstracts, and Background checks are part of the hiring process.
