Global Indirect Procurement Leader

Bolton, Canada Husky Technologies Full time

Responsible for global indirect procurement and supply base management with spend of approximately $150M. Leads global Non-Production Sourcing (NPS)/ Indirect team – Global Category Sourcing, Regional Sourcing and Buyers. Develops global NPS strategy in line with GSC and Enterprise wide NPS Mandate & strategy. Ensures effective NPS spend portfolio and supply base management in close collaboration with business units. Serves as point of escalation for global NPS related issues and for major (high value or high risk) supplier negotiations.

Sets annual savings (SDP- Strategic Development Project) targets and focus areas, increases contract compliance, optimizes supply base and establishes preferred supply base by spend category. Guides Sourcing team in contracts review and negotiations. Serves as final compliance control point for high value PO’s and Contracts according to assigned LoA (Limits of Authority).

Builds and maintains intra-organizational relationships at senior management and Leadership Team level.

Ensures sustainability of implemented NPS mandate/savings and participates in monthly business reviews with leadership team, issuing and utilizing NPS compliance and spend scorecards, supporting countermeasure development and effectiveness control.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / Areas of Accountability:

  • Manages the global NPS team situated in each of the main Husky campuses required to support major strategic initiatives. This team is comprised of Sourcing & Buyers overseeing targeted categories of Husky’s $150M+ in annualized non-production / indirect spend.
  • Ensure NPS Mandate compliance globally across all accountabilities and Non-Production Spend categories
  • Formulates and adjusts global NPS strategy, translates strategy statement into objectives and KPI’s
  • Closely collaborate with leadership team and finance business partners to further optimize & control indirect spend as well as compliance and early NPS involvement in any sourcing activity
  • Prepare Husky wide set of NPS spend & compliance scorecards and manage performance improvements with accountability leaders/leadership team
  • Participate in monthly business reviews, support countermeasure development, provide guidance and effectiveness control
  • Deliver sustainable step change in financial performance: Collaborate with SDP leadership to develop global savings plan, ensure SDP savings are achieved and countermeasures defined/understood and effective
  • Promotes the use of global strategic non-production purchasing processes and methods within Husky through proactive communication, monitoring of compliance, and training where needed.
  • Develops, plans and executes deliverables committed from the NPS function in support of overall transformational objectives
  • Facilitate and/or participate in key policy development within specific non-production spend categories (Eg. T&E, Capital Requisition; etc.)
  • Present NPS strategy and execution/performance to Husky ownership on an as requested basis
  • Accountable for execution and deliverables on global NPS objectives and KPI’s
  • Hires, trains and coaches staff. Performs staff development planning
  • Constantly monitors internal customer satisfaction and takes proactive steps to ensure positive customer experience
  • Leads or serves as escalation for global high $$$ or critical supplier negotiations
  • Serves as point of escalation for global NPS issues
  • Provides guidance to Global and Regional Sourcing Strategy development and Supplier Relationship Management
  • Approves high value PO’s and contracts according to assigned LoA (Limits of Authority)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Business or Engineering degree; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in diverse purchasing/procurement environments, 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Expertise in indirect procurement
  • Extensive experience in variety of contracts and negotiations
  • Global reach, multi-cultural awareness
