Scope:

The resources will plan, implement, and provide support for the Cisco Secure Workload (CSW) solution. CSW plays a crucial role in the Zero Trust Network project by ensuring workload security through micro-segmentation and policy enforcement across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Duties:

The two resources will be involved in the planning, implementation, and support of the Cisco Secure Workload infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for implementing, modernizing, managing, and supporting network infrastructure, along with proactive monitoring, analysis, and reporting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Achieve a high availability IT network infrastructure and services in accordance with the Government of Alberta Technology Services Service Level Agreements.
  • Hands-on implementation, upgrading, and troubleshooting of network software and hardware infrastructure.
  • Manage and prioritize workload while balancing team requirements to ensure effective service delivery, cross-training, workload sharing, and team collaboration.
  • Ensure effective teamwork and proficient communication with team members and supported ministries.
  • Lead and/or participate in networking projects, including planning, designing, implementing, supporting, and documenting best practices.
  • Contribute to cross-functional IT projects by providing technical IT networking expertise.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network-related issues.
  • Plan for software and hardware upgrades and/or migrations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and network-related procedures.
  • Provide cross-training and knowledge transfer to team members.


Qualifications & Assessment Criteria

Must-Have Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Work Experience:

  • Continuous Monitoring and Threat Detection
  • Designing and Implementing Zero Trust Architectures
  • Developing and Documenting Zero Trust Best Practices
  • Hands-On Experience with Cisco Secure Workload
  • Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) Deployment

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Professional Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certificate of Competence in Zero Trust (CCZT) – Cloud Security Alliance
  • Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate – Cisco

Work Experience:

  • Cloud and Hybrid Environment Security
