Our client is looking for an Senior Financial Reporting Analyst for a 3-month contract opportunity. The role will require working in office, in Oakville, 3 days a week


About the Opportunity:

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual notes to the IFRS financial statements/financial reporting process including preparation of notes to the financial statements, MD&A, technical accounting review etc.
  • Assist with month end and quarter end close cycle including posting of key entries, reconciliations etc.
  • Liaison with external audit, coordinates and prepares supporting documentation as part of the interim and annual audits
  • Coordinate the completion of monthly account reconciliations.
  • Plays a key role in process improvements for the accounting team - identify and recommend process or procedural improvements to improve the quality and timeliness of financial information and to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness for financial accounting
  • Perform other duties as assigned


About You

  • CPA designation
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including thorough knowledge of IFRS
  • Advanced level of knowledge and experience in financial modeling and management reporting
  • Strong proficiency with Excel application including macros and advance formulas
  • Proficiency with other MS Office applications
  • A minimum of 3 years related work experience including financial reporting and analysis
  • Ability to identify process gaps and recommend new processes
  • Demonstrated high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to provide practical and/or innovative solutions to complex technical issues
  • Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information in an organized and concise way
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple projects and initiatives within established timelines
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
