Oakville, Canada The Mason Group - Strategic Search Partners Full time

Our client, in the financial services sector is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join them on a 6-month assignment. The position will be working hybrid, 2 days on site at their offices in Oakville.
Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst is as follows:
Ensure the financial results are in compliance with IFRS and provide accurate and timely reports and analysis to Management and external stakeholders
Prepare and review significant analyses, reports, cash flow statements, journal entries and reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting and review process
Analyze significant variances, key metrics and business trends
Assist with preparation of the quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
Prepare the quarterly MD&A
Identify and execute process improvements
Provide recommendations on accounting treatment for transactions, business initiatives and contracts in accordance with IFRS

Requirements

University degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
CPA designation required
Minimum 5+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience, including the preparation of financial statements
Ability to act decisively and deal with deadlines during peak periods
Strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships
