Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

Our client is looking for an Senior Financial Reporting Analyst for a 3-month contract opportunity. The role will require working in office, in Oakville, 3 days a weekAbout the Opportunity:Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual notes to the IFRS financial statements/financial reporting process including preparation of notes to the financial statements, MD&A, technical accounting review etc.Assist with month end and quarter end close cycle including posting of key entries, reconciliations etc.Liaison with external audit, coordinates and prepares supporting documentation as part of the interim and annual auditsCoordinate the completion of monthly account reconciliations.Plays a key role in process improvements for the accounting team - identify and recommend process or procedural improvements to improve the quality and timeliness of financial information and to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness for financial accountingPerform other duties as assignedAbout YouCPA designationStrong technical accounting knowledge, including thorough knowledge of IFRSAdvanced level of knowledge and experience in financial modeling and management reportingStrong proficiency with Excel application including macros and advance formulasProficiency with other MS Office applicationsA minimum of 3 years related work experience including financial reporting and analysisAbility to identify process gaps and recommend new processesDemonstrated high level of attention to detail and accuracySolid problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to provide practical and/or innovative solutions to complex technical issuesStrong written and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information in an organized and concise wayAbility to plan, prioritize and execute multiple projects and initiatives within established timelinesAbility to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
