A Canadian based Medical Communications agency with global reach is currently looking for an experienced Senior Medical Writer to join their expanding team. As the SMW, you'll lead a team and oversee the development of high-quality scientific content across numerous therapeutic areas for a range of deliverables including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and congress materials. You'll engage directly with clients and partner with internal teams to ensure alignment of strategy and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients directly to advise on publications plans and medical communication strategies.
  • Drive new business opportunities and foster organic expansion by pinpointing areas of improvement for service offerings with existing clients.
  • Lead the development and delivery of publications focused scientific content, i.e. manuscripts, abstracts, posters, etc.
  • Manage, train, mentor multiple direct reports and identify skill gaps for training and development purposes.
  • Collaborate with client services, editorial, and other internal teams to support successful delivery of projects.
  • Play an active role in client meetings by providing strategic input and guidance on communication strategies.


Qualifications

  • Masters or Doctorate degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) required
  • Ability and enthusiasm to work across numerous therapeutic areas
  • Experience working within a Medical Communications agency setting across publications (1-3 years)
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and comfortable interfacing directly with clients.
