Cards Payment Consultant (Technical/Architecture)


Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our consulting practice has an opening for a Cards Consultant who will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of our card payments modernization program for a Top Five Bank.


Client: Big 5 Bank

Seniority: Consultant converting to FTE

Location:Hybrid; 1- 2 days a week in Toronto

  • If outside of Ontario, remote as long as lives in Canada

Terms: 6 Month Contract to Hire

Hours: 40 hours/week Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm


Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cards Consultant for our card payments modernization initiative. This role requires a deep understanding of the credit card ecosystem, including processing networks (TSYS), peripherals, transaction flows, and associated elements like payment disputes, compliance, and decisioning.


Responsibilities:

  • The strategic direction and execution of our card payments modernization program.
  • a comprehensive evaluation of current legacy systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • alternative solutions for card processing.
  • a future-proofed roadmap towards a more streamlined and business-friendly tool.
  • the transition from legacy technology towards a developer- and architect-friendly environment.
  • collaboration across various stakeholders, including business units, technology teams, and external partners.
  • adherence to industry standards and regulations throughout the modernization process.
  • and present compelling business cases to secure executive buy-in for the modernization initiative.

Qualifications:

  • years of experience in the payments processing industry, with a specific focus on credit cards.
  • track record of leading large-scale technology transformations.
  • knowledge of card processing networks (TSYS), peripherals, and transaction flows.
