Our client, a boutique investment management firm serving high-net-worth clients is seeking a Senior Operations Analyst (Toronto) with exceptional excel and data management skills to join our Operations team. The Senior Operations Analyst will support client relationship and investment activities. Reporting to the Operations Controller, this Senior Operations Analyst will be responsible for maintaining accurate information in custodian and portfolio management systems, running quarterly reports, assisting with the preparation of month-end reporting and preparing ad hoc analysis relating, our client portfolios and transactions.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain complex spreadsheets used for managing portfolio weightings and reconciling custody and internal portfolio management systems.
  • Maintain trade processing/blotter schedules and daily transaction logs.
  • Perform period end close responsibilities.
  • Prepare analysis and reporting required to support the business in reporting to regulators.
  • Help prepare periodic reports and analysis related to tax cost base to ensure data accuracy and completeness with regards to capital gain & loss reporting.
  • Calculate management and custody fees.
  • Prepare reports and information in response to client requests or questions.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis.
  • Be firm’s expert on custodian processes and requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain procedures guides for account openings and client transactions.
  • Process client on-boarding to custodian and internal systems.
  • Process transactions in custodian systems (trades, cash flows, fees).
  • Complete all transactions accurately and efficiently, keeping internal stakeholders apprised of status.
  • Crosstrain, provide back-up for Senior Financial Analyst with responsibilities for firm, fund, and portfolio level reporting and analysis.


Role requirements:

  • Excellent command of MS Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to create and maintain complex Excel financial models and spreadsheets.
  • 5+ years’ experience in wealth management or similar financial services.
  • Exceptional organization skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to confidentiality, integrity and discretion.
  • Proven contributor in a team environment.
  • Tasks and accountabilities may evolve and change with the needs of the firm.
