Job Description: IT Asset Management Specialist

Position Overview: We are seeking an IT Asset Management Specialist to develop and manage our IT Asset Management (ITAM) practices for all IT hardware. This role involves ensuring effective lifecycle management of IT hardware assets and optimizing technology spend across the organization.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in enterprise-scale ITAM, SACM, and CMDB processes, and excels in collaboration, attention to detail, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage hardware assets to ensure compliance with standards, agreements, and warranties.
  • Assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend.
  • Define hardware configuration standards and evaluation criteria.
  • Oversee hardware inventories across multiple locations and remote users.
  • Coordinate hardware assets through their lifecycle stages.
  • Track hardware globally in various environments (cloud and data centers).
  • Collaborate to improve and support an international HAM framework.
  • Conduct forensic investigations to uncover non-compliance and policy breaches.
  • Implement ITAM policies, processes, and procedures for asset planning and compliance.
  • Optimize cost efficiencies in cloud services and ITAM programs.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAM asset tagging standards.
  • Generate monthly cost allocation reports by business unit.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT hardware procurement and asset management.
  • Understanding of hardware/software asset lifecycle management.
  • Experience with management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, SCCM).
  • Knowledge of ITIL concepts, SACM, CSDM, ITOM, and ITAM.
  • Skills in analyzing CMDB data for improvement opportunities.
  • Experience defining remediation plans for configuration items.
  • Knowledge of data quality, integrity, and security in ITAM and CMDB.
  • Collaboration with sourcing, IT leadership, project management, and legal teams.
  • Decision-making skills in HAM and CMDB tool integration and maintenance.
  • Relationship-building with vendors and internal partners.
  • Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (preferred).
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with diverse, multi-functional teams.
