Your main goal in this role will be to display the experience and abilities of our company in clear and effective responses to Corporate Requests for Proposals, while performing a thorough Quality Assurance (QA) process to ensure final proposal submissions are in line with our established style and level of quality. This will occasionally require developing a strategy along with a bit of detective work, as you gain a clear understanding of each opportunity and work together with our team to develop a winning proposal.


This role will rely on your resourcefulness, your writing ability, your time management skills, your attention to detail, and your skills within quality assurance and peer review. Each proposal will be its own project, with due dates and deadlines for which you will be accountable. You must be able to organize your time effectively to manage multiple, simultaneous deadlines on various bids, while also communicating with numerous team members to collaborate on proposal responses. This position requires strong problem-solving abilities, as well as a commitment to Altis’ Standard of Excellence for proposals.


This role will also involve developing into a coaching and leadership opportunity over the course of six months, where you will transition into training and mentoring a team of proposal specialists, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. You will be relied on for your instincts to inspire daily proposal activity through energy and initiatives, while providing daily coaching and support. It will call on your superb leadership abilities to create a vision that inspires and motivates your team members.


Your main responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:


  • Gaining an understanding of each opportunity by thoroughly reading the RFP and flagging any concerns with questions to the client for clarification
  • Supporting leadership team in identifying high value opportunities
  • Performing a thorough Quality Assurance (QA) process to ensure the final proposal submission is in line with our established style and level of quality
  • Supporting proposals team by conducting peer reviews for every bid prior to submission
  • Developing compelling questions where the client understands in order to gain a positive response
  • Identifying which questions require new responses
  • Researching possible answers using several methods, including interviewing colleagues
  • Writing the answer so that it reflects our company and brand and is tailored to the question that the client is asking
  • Preparing templates for the proposals
  • Developing a draft of the proposal for a quality review
  • Writing an effective response to the RFP that is clear, concise and compliant with the requirements
  • Managing a bid calendar/schedule
  • Submitting the proposal to ensure that all mandatory elements are sent to the client by the submission closing date
  • Maintaining a strong proposal repository
  • Maintaining reports on proposal outcomes and lessons learned
  • Reviewing websites to look for new opportunities to bid on to drive business
  • Additional proposal support and tasks as required, including assisting other proposal teams in preparing responses to resource-driven RFPs
  • Developing into a leadership opportunity, where you will be training and mentoring a team of proposal professionals
  • Problem solving while supporting the team with day-to-day issues and challenges
  • Shaping and promoting a positive, fun, and collaborative company culture that reflects the values of the organization


Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of writing experience within a professional setting required; can include grant writing, journalism, content writing, or previous proposal writing experience
  • Proven experience within quality management of proposals or other content
  • Proven experience in leadership/coaching team members
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail with proven strengths in quality assurance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Strong technical abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • You are a driven professional who is accountable and motivated for achieving and exceeding personal and team goals

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: University Degree or College Diploma
